General guidelines
- Don't panic! Many International students already went through these situations and most of the people could overcome them (easily!).
- Ask questions. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. A simple question can make you save much time and avoid bad circumstances. Communicate own experiences makes others skip the first steps (it would be a waste of time to invent the wheel twice!).
- Participate. Shyness makes it difficult for you to know new people and things. A good friend of mine used to say "nobody is so poor to not have anything to teach". People are ready to know you, just invite them to know your world.
What you need to know
Before you travel
William Shakespeare (1564-1616) said "Improvisations are better when prepared." The better your prior preparation is, the better your opportunities to enjoy your exchange experience will be.

Academic issues
- Bedelía is the office within the University that is in charge to assist students (local and International) about everything related to subjects, schedules, teachers, etc. Consult Bedelía about any academic doubt before you go to the International Relations Department.
If you don't know which subjects to sign up for, you can check the section materias or ask International Friend Program members 3
- You university f origin is the one that actually decides whether you will obtain the equivalence on the subject you will attend in the foreign university. Be sure you don't waste time attending courses you won't have equivalence on.
- Be aware that final exams:
- Are generally oral, not written
- cannot be taken after the established term
- Are definitive. To take them again you should stay in Argentina a few more months, waiting for the next opportunity (if you don't stay, the first one you took will be the definitive).
- Are independent from partials and practices, your prior scores don't matter.
- You suggest you to introduce yourself to each teacher during the first lesson. Tell them who you are, where you are from, how your Spanish comprehension is and how long you are going to stay
If you need to improve your knowledge of Spanish, check: idiomas
You can record the lessons in mp3 player 4
If you don't know where to get copies and bibliografy of the subject, check with your schoolmates. You can usually find them at Alfa5 or at Lerú5
- There are some no official websites where you can find resumes, synthesis, practices and tests that can be useful for your learning.
