FAQ (English)

At what point in my career can I have an exchange experience abroad?

In order to study abroad, an undergraduate or graduate student must have completed at least 25% of his/her academic curriculum. The student must initiate the application process through the university’s Department of International Affairs six months in advance of his/her desired departure date.

An average of 7 points on final evaluations is required. Any grades obtained outside of UCES are not figured into the calculation of this average. If a student’s personnel file contains disciplinary action, he/she is ineligible for study abroad programs.

What is the length of a study abroad experience?

UCES offers its undergraduate and graduate students the possibility of studying for one or two academic semesters at a university abroad. All courses completed abroad will be honored by UCES and all credit hours obtained will count towards a UCES degree.

In which countries do UCES offer abroad experiences?

UCES offers programs in more than 40 countries. Among our international partners are universities in Brazil, Colombia, Chile, United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, China, Japan, Korea, Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Italy, England, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine, Peru, and Uruguay.

Where can I get more information about the study abroad program?

You can get more information from UCES' International Exchange Department Paraguay 1338. Call (5411) 4815-3290 int. 361/365 (preferable) or send an e-mail to <lgoro@uces.edu.ar> or <mcaucino@uces.edu.ar> to request an interview.

Is it possible to study at more than one university during my time abroad?

No. The Department of International Relations will match each student with a host university where he/she must complete his/her course-work while studying abroad.

Is it necessary to speak other languages to study in other countries?

The student must hold a language level certificate issued by the relevant institution and meet the requirements of the foreign university selected.

What is the cost of studying abroad?

During the exchange semester(s), students pay tuition and monthly fees at UCES. Exchange students must pay for housing, food, and personal expenses while in the host country.
